Tanzanian Peaberry Coffee
I originally bought this Tanzanian Peaberry coffee because I'd not had the opportunity (at least that I knew of) to sample coffees from that region in Africa. I'd grown weary of the usual strong espresso and Kona blends that I'd been drinking. I was pleasantly surprised by the mellow, somewhat earthy flavor of this coffee. After drinking much stronger brews, I was pleased with the less acidic taste of this coffee. It is much less bitter than a Kona, with a lovely aroma even before brewing it.
I, however, *do* prefer my coffees to be a little bit more bitter than this. However, those folks who would like a milder, almost fruity-sweet type of coffee will go nuts over this! I would recommend this for people who are normally tea drinkers or who prefer a smoother finish to their coffees. This coffee does provide a nice bit of caffeine, even though the flavor is mild. This is probably because it’s quite easy to drink more than one cup of this each morning!! My mother and father, who are definitely a “Folger’s” type coffee drinker and abhors the strong coffees that I usually brew up raved about the Tanzanian Peaberry so much that I ordered a bag of it for them as well.
It’s a really good one to have in the house for guests who prefer milder coffees. So, if you are looking for a coffee that provides a silky mouth feel, a slightly sweet tang, and nearly NO bitter after taste, this coffee is for you. I only give it a 4 out of 5 because I really prefer stronger stuff, but that’s just personal taste.
