Sunbeam Model 6385 10 cup coffee maker

by Michelle
(Tulsa, OK)

My coffee maker is a Sunbeam 10 cup coffee maker, model # 6385. I personally am the only one in the household who drinks coffee and therefore do not make more than 4 cups at a time; yet it is very easy to measure out smaller amounts and makes excellent coffee.

It is very quick at heating the water and brewing (which can be bad if you forget to put the pot in on time!). It is easy to clean and cools down relatively quickly. I usually rinse out the pot right after I am done pouring my coffee, so I haven't had any stains on any parts of the machine yet. I have had this coffee maker for about three years and use it ~3 times/week. It really makes great coffee and is easy to use - simply plug it in, pour in the water, press a button and there is coffee as a reward. It's also inexpensive, although I can't remember exactly how much we paid for it, it couldn't have been more than around twenty-five or thirty dollars.

It is simple and easy to use and cleans up very well as I stated before, something that every busy person likes to hear. I really haven't tried to make a large pot of coffee before, but I would think you would get the same quality coffee with a larger amount. It uses any standard filters for a cofee maker of its size (10-12 cups) - I happen to buy the cheaper ones, but they work just as well.

It is also relatively compact for being a 10-12 cup coffee maker. I have really enjoyed the service that I have received from this coffee maker and it has lasted a long time. I would buy the same coffee maker again if I had the choice. Really a great buy - would recommend to others as well. Thank you.

A Great Coffee Maker -Model 6385
by: Anonymous

I was looking for something simple but still would make a good cup of brew. I never used a Sunbeam coffee maker before... (I had a Gevalia) I had to go to a Second Hand Store ( everything seems to "overed featured." No 'off and on' light so there is less to go wrong. Heats up quickly so there is no waiting and thats a plus for any coffee maker. A great machine. It seems the old stuff is better than the 'new'.....

Keeps Going & Going
by: Anonymous

I've had mine, can't even remember, years and years and years, and I use it everyday, multiple times a day. Coffee is always hot and tasty. As far as another comment regarding no "on" indicator light, the switch does display a 'red' area when on. As far as a fire hazard, yes, it is possible. From my perspective, I have 'forgotten' about that 2nd cup I never went back for, as I'm glued to my desk chair face attached to the internet, for have 'cooked' coffee for hours upon hours. Of course, it's a slow burn, and it has rarely gotten to the blackened, crusty stage. I have also left the maker on without any liquid whatsoever in the pot, and 'cooked' the glass for hours upon hours, and it is still fine, no cracks, no combustible explosion, no nothing. This maker keeps going and going, even under the worst conditions. The filter holder has been stained over time, so only appearance detracts from its original great quality. I may become 'homeless' soon, so I am posting all my belongings for sale at my website, if anyone's interested, the coffee maker is up for grabs soon! http://www.CorineJaek.com/ibanal/ibanal.html

Coffee buzz

My Model 6385 Sunbeam coffee maker scares me because it doesn't have a light to indicate if it is on or off and I don't think it has a timer that will shut the unit off if left unattended for more than a couple of hours. It certainly does make average tasting coffee and it is easy to use. I think I paid $10 for mine. Well worth the money. It's small and easy to clean. Other than the potential fire hazard, it's a great product.
