SAECO Royal Coffee Bar Espresso Maker

I like this espresso machine. I didn't at first because it's very automated and I was used to manual settings on my last machine. It is easy to use once you get the hang of how to adjust the settings for grind and serving sizes.

Even though I have tried to make the settings as close to the same as on my old SAECO machine, the espresso seems to be a lot weaker, thus I have started making triple shot drinks. The cleaning is very easy and I don't have to keep track of when to descale. It also lets me know when to empty the dreg drawer. When using the side frother tube I really have to make sure that I run clear water through it thoroughly or mold develops.

The front one is fairly easy since it isn't the plastic tube. I just need to clean the outside of it. The tray pulls out easily to wash. I usually do that every other day. We drink a lot of coffee and it has held up well. We haven't had to take it in for any repairs and we've had it a couple of years or maybe more. It is definitely for home use.

We tried it in our restaurant for about a week but it can't survive the constant use and abuse of all the servers. All in all, I enjoy waking up to enjoy the triple espresso lattes every morning. It makes a better drink than I could get at Starbucks!

- Side frothier is difficult to clean to keep mold out
- Gives water tank empty notice too early in my opinion
