I picked this coffee maker up in CVS in moment of desperation, after my sturdy Braun model had finally bitten the dust after 2 years of heavy use.

I was skeptical at first. The price listed was about 17 dollars and a pharmacy is not typically a place where I go to purchase a coffee maker. But after over 8 months my trusty Round the House is still churning out tasty coffee without fail on a daily basis. I have not had a single malfunction in that time; my morning coffee is always ready to go.

This model is not fancy by any means and does have some downsides. The X0609 comes with a washable cone filter, but the device that holds the filter is not easy to remove or clean. While the filter is convenient and durable, I have found myself accidentally scooping coffee in to the contraption that holds the filter only to find the filter resting in the dish drainer. This is not an easy mess to clean, and not to mention a waste of quality Café Bustello.

But after making this mistake once or twice I am quite careful not to let it happen again, always immediately placing the filter back in to the machine after I have cleaned it. There is also no clock or timer on the machine, but I just set the coffee up in the evening and pour in the water in the morning.

The coffee pot is light weight with a removable lid, and holds 10+ cups.

All in all I would recommend this model. The coffee is flavorful and hot, and the machine is easy to use, and well worth the 17 dollars.

If I were to rate this coffee maker on a scale of 1-5 (one being the worst and five being the best)I would give it a 4

I have had this item stored in my pantry for years then took it to work and used it once in a great while. After my glass teapot broke I pulled it back out of the pantry and started using it to make hot water for tea. At first I thought that the gray matter was lime build up from hard water, but as I examined it closly I discovered that it was the metal coating pealing away and mixing with the hot water. I tried to contact the manufacturer from the number listed on the bottom and it was no longer a working number. After googling Round The House I got Target as a retailer for this product. Their customer service could not satisfactorily answer any of my questions about the product. Buyer beware of this product because we don't know what health risk that this hot pot poses for consumers and how to contact the manufacturer. ( Made in China) !!!!
