Mr. Coffee DW13
12-Cup Switch Coffeemaker

I am getting old and I wanted to get a really easy to use Coffee maker. I didn't want to be confused with timers and really fancy programming. I bought this coffee maker at Target last year for around $30. I really loved my previous coffee maker, but I broke the glass pot and I couldn't find one to replace it with. So I went into Target looking for a glass pot, but ended up buying this model instead and I am happy with this choice.

It is very easy to use since it only has one button. All you have to do is life the top up and pour your desired amount of water into the side compartment. Then you put in a filter and your grounds and close the lid. You just press the button and it's ready to go. It can't get any easier that that. I love how the lid opens by lifting it from the top instead of having two compartments that you have to slide or pop in. My hands are getting weak and this is a great coffee maker if you are older and need something easy.

The button also lights up to let you know that your coffee maker is on and off. The water windows let you see exactly how much water you are pouring into it so you don't pour in too much and make weak coffee. The water filter really does a good job at filtering out tap water to make a good tasting cup of joe. The pot also has a 2 hour auto shut-off if you are the type of person who forgets to turn off the pot after dashing out of your door in the morning.

Dont buy

Wont buy another one. Spills everytime you pour. Leaks most of the time you use pause and serve. If you make 12 cups, it will overflow coffee grounds into the pot. Great for increasing your purchases of paper towels.

Good luck when you pour
by: Anonymous

Like other Mr. Coffee models we have owned in the past the carafe on this one spills when you pour. Pour slow, pour fast, pour sideways, no matter - Mr. Coffee carafes spill when you pour from them. I've seen a lot of others comment on the same thing. I can't believe that a company that calls themselves Mr. Coffee can't do a better job designing their products. Whenever our coffee pot wears out I try to remember to tell my wife to purchase anything but Mr. Coffee brand but you can guess what she usually buys. This latest Mr. Coffee machine proudly continues in the Mr. Coffee tradition of dribbling carafes. Perhaps they are waiting until the right time to introduce a revolutionary new design - the spill-free carafe.
