Mr Coffee DRX5 Coffee Maker

I needed a small coffeemaker and stumbled across this one in my local Target. It was reduced (from $30 to $17) so I thought it was a good bargain, especially as it was digital. It's easy to switch on and load the coffee, as the filter tray just lifts right out and can rotate if the filter is bunching up a little.

Once it gets going, it makes very little noise and brews 4 cups very quickly. However, sometimes the "delay brew" function (pausing the brew mid-brew to pour a cup), doesn't actually kick in, but I've only been noticing that lately. There's even a clock on the front which is a nice touch, and the parts are very easy to clean.

The cup is no-drip, which is very useful when I'm transferring it into multiple containers to make iced coffee, so this coffeemaker is very versatile and not just for winter brewing!

All in all, this is a very decent coffeemaker if you have a small household, and at less than $20 you can't go wrong. I'm generally not a coffee person but my husband is quite the connoisseur and told me this coffee tasted great.

It actually doesn't need as much as the recommended amounts to make a fairly strong coffee, so maybe it's more economical with the way it brews the grounds. It's also compact and fits right in the corner of my kitchen counter top so that's an added convenience.

Pros
- Fast brewing time
- Inexpensive

Cons
- Delay brew function doesn't always work
- Difficult to clean lid which can get a bit sticky (it doesn't come off)
