Mr. Coffee 12 Cup
Programmable Coffeemaker CGX23

I purchased this coffee maker at a large retail store for roughly 25 dollars. I've had a smaller coffee maker from the same company for several years and loved it.

It only held four cups. I've recently been drinking more coffee and decided to upgrade to a newer model with a timer and clock. Price was a consideration as was a timer and clock. The black color matches everything in the kitchen and the timer is a treat for the morning. I've never had any problems and the coffee is always ready to go when I say.

Standard filters fit this maker and the same store I bought this maker from also sells the permanent filter that is the right size.

I can recommend this maker to anyone looking for a basic coffee maker. A couple things that a different...this coffee maker makes a weird cracking sound when the warmer is on and the pot is in the maker.

Sounds like glass cracking. I can't say what it is but I've made lots of coffee so far and nothing is wrong. Also, the pot can be washed in the dishwasher, which, for me is a big plus. One other thing I will do next time for sure is purchase one of those new models with a built-in coffee grinder.

I usually grind it at the store but I find it better to have one at home. Especially when the store doesn't always have its own grinder.

My Experience
by: Nicholas

Hello,Well.. I'd say this machine makes my third Mr.Coffee machine.. after awhile of repouring the cold coffee into the back of machine.. to create hot coffee .. the back area that normally holds the water.. eventually became clogged from very fine coffee fibers.. I had to flush the system 3 times with straight water..(nothing else)to get it unclogged..Oh and that noise the machine makes when brewing coffee is normal.. l've had several machines than ranged from $10.00-$50.00 They all make that noise..Back in the day.. if you owned a Perculator.. it made a bubbling noise as well.. maybe not as loud but similar.. I swear I don't know where l'd be without my Coffee Maker..
