Krups Mod: CAE12 900 OOE

by Dan
(Spring Lake, MI, USA)

I bought this Krups coffee maker for my wife a couple of years ago for Christmas with the idea that she could wake up to the fresh smell of coffee every morning. Well, it hasn't worked out that way as we are often too lazy to use the feature (or we forget) but we do enjoy it every once in a while.

I guess we are pretty simple but this coffee maker has been great for us. It has required minimal upkeep and cleaning. We haven't had any technical problems either. At first I thought I was going to have to purchase expensive name brand Krups filters online (of course that's what they tell you in their user guide). After looking around we realized the filters we needed could be found at any grocery store at a really cheap price.

This model has some really nice features that are a step up from your regular standard coffee maker. There is an auto on feature that you can program for any time you want. It will turn on automatically and you can wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee or you can get home from work to a freshly brewed warm pot of coffee. It also has a clock display on the front of it.

It is black and really doesn't take up much space (as we don't have much room to spare). I think one of the nicest features this Krups model has is that you can pull the carafe out while coffee is still brewing to pour a cup if you just can't wait for the coffee to finish brewing. The coffee automatically stops dripping until you place the carafe back into place. Just make sure you don't keep it out too long because it only has a timer of about 15 seconds.

I know this model is older but in looking through the Krups website I think the closest model would be the FME2 Model. It is such a standard coffee maker but has everything a simple person could need.
