KitchenAid Javastudio
14 Cup programmable - KCM514OB

The Kitchen Aid JavaStudio coffeemaker has many benefits and features that might make you want to purchase this make and model.

It is a very nice coffeemaker that looks very classy on your kitchen counter.

Before purchasing this model, check out what the customers have to say about it. Some are very happy and some find issues that they wouldn’t want to go through with again in any coffeemaker.

Kitchen Aid JavaStudio Key features

Some of the features of the JavaStudio are that is brews up to 14-cups of coffee.

This is an outstanding difference with most coffeemakers because it makes two cups more than most coffee pots. The coffeemaker has a stainless steel housing wrapped around the outside of it.

Programmable

It is also programmable. This is very nice for those people who like to wake up to the aroma of a fresh pot of coffee brewing. You don’t have to stumble into the kitchen half awake and try to figure out how to make a pot of coffee.

You can set the timer at night, add the water, the coffee grounds, and turn it on. The coffeemaker will begin to brew for whatever time it is that you like to wake up in the morning.

This is very convenient and very nice to have a hot cup of coffee right out of bed.

Dishwasher safe

The carafe is safe to wash in the dishwasher which makes cleaning really simple. This is nice to know that it won’t break or be damaged like other brand’s carafe in the dishwasher. Plus, you don’t have to worry about manually scrubbing it awkwardly.

Warranty

There is a one year warranty that comes with the JavaStudio. This means you can replace the unit if it malfunctions for any reason. The warranty is a replacement warranty only, not to be confused with a satisfaction warranty.

This means that if you do not like the item it will not be covered under the warranty. Only if the unit breaks you will be able to get a new one.

Convenient features

The JavaStudio also has a pause and serve function and an automatic shut off.

This means that as your pot of coffee is brewing and you cannot wait for the first cup, you don’t have to. You can pull the carafe from the coffeemaker and a sensor will tell it that the carafe is not there to brew coffee into it, so it won’t.

When you replace the carafe back onto the hot plate then the sensor will tell the coffeemaker to begin brewing again. That means you won’t have anymore messes because you couldn’t wait and didn’t mind spilling just a little coffee over while you quickly poured yourself a cup of coffee and replaced the carafe.

There is also a cord storage with this coffeemaker so you can hide your cord inside the back of the machine so there are not excess cords lying around your kitchen counters. This makes your kitchen look neater but also prevents the cord from sitting in a wet spot on the counter or from getting damaged due to anything on the counter also.

Kitchen Aid JavaStudio Cons

A complaint about the JavaStudio mentioned that the carafe would move while the coffeemaker was in the brew process. The carafe would move out of place from under the filter causing coffee to spill all over the kitchen counter.

Another customer mentioned that their system malfunctioned with the pause and serve feature working as it was brewing. The carafe would be in place on the burner but the pause and serve feature would be on and still be brewing.

This filled the filter with coffee and caused coffee grounds and coffee to spill everywhere and makes a really big mess all over the kitchen. This malfunction was a common problem for several of the customers who purchased the JavaStudio.

They said that they had to stand at the coffeemaker and hold the carafe in place just right for the coffee to brew into the carafe and if they didn’t it would spill all over the counters and the floor.

Final Thought

The Kitchen Aid customer service is very helpful to their customers when there is a problem with your coffeemaker and it is still under warranty.

They are always willing to send you a new model right away and not keep you waiting too long.

The Java Studio is loved and disliked evenly across the consumer crowd with about half of the reviews liking the product and the other half had very bad experiences with it.

Let it be your decision if you decide to move forward with a purchase on this product.
