I love percolated coffee! But this particular coffee pot has a cord that is always breaking. I've been having this issue for the past 20 years. I hate it. Every year or so, their cords wear out. All of mine have involved a short in the cord where I can see the copper wires breaking through the black cord rubber. I went to the Salvation Army, and Goodwill, trying to find another percolator, with no luck. Seems like such a simple thing SHOULD be a very simple fix. Of course, it isn't. And to be honest, I absolutely HATE drip-made coffee. I drink French Market, and it has such as smooth and exceptional flavor when percolated. So, I called their customer service. They did me a favor: instead of spending the $8.99 for the cord, they gave me 50% off. Shipping was $8.35. The cord was only $4.49. Although I still think this is too much to pay, my love of percolated coffee compelled me to purchase this. However, I will be searching for a new alternative over the next year before this new cord goes bad. Presently, I have 5 coffee pots )Ham Beach 40616) in my cabinets, all without cords. It's very frustrating. I've been a CMO for some years now of my own company, and to tell you the truth, the solution to this problem doesn't have to be so expensive. This is bad for the company, and bad for the customers. With such a problem, they can't NOT know this is happening. They need to solve these issues, or their customer base will shrink. I've read a LOT of bad complaints on several websites. I think my best solution will be to buy a camping percolator, so it doesn't even need electricity. If anybody finds a solution, please post it to save the rest of us this headache. I will be posting this on as many consumer complaint websites as I can find!
