    Poor Design
    by: Ron

    This percolator must have been designed by a high school dropout. The steam collector at the base of the percolator stem covers only about 1/3 of the bottom area because it has to fit through the opening of the pot itself.
    This causes most of the steam bubbles created by heating to exit through the spout instead of being forced up through the stem (and onto the coffee basket).
    Due to this misdesign the pot will boil out before any coffee is ever made.
    It's going back...

    not perculating

    Re: Donna's problem

    I've used the Fresco daily for over a yr now and haven't had any new problems...works every time and the lids still tight. It heats very fast on my electric stove. Not sure what effect the level has...I always fill it, but the heat has to be high enough or it won't perc. It looks big but doesn't seem to hold any more than my old perc.

    12 cup coffee percolator
    by: donna

    I purchased this coffee perc for my holiday trailer last fall. I tried it before we went on vacation and could not make it work. It will not percplate properly and most of the time the grounds are mostly dry, even though it seems to be perking. I have tried making different amounts and nothing works. I left it at home and took my old one on vacation. Now that I'm back I would like someone to tell me how to make it work.

    Still need paper filter
    by: Perkie

    I recently bought this model for a few reasons;
    I liked the design, held 12 cups, wide bottom to cover more of the burner/heat faster. Reasonably priced and, not much else to choose from...only store in my area to sell coffee perc's.

    Anyway, the basket lid didn't fit right. One phone call to the mfg and they sent a new basket/lid no problem. I can see where the pot lid may become loose in time...lid seems a bit thin.
    My only appointment is that with the regular grind coffee I always buy, I still need paper filters or grounds end up in the coffee big time. I have to modify other filters to fit or buy (more expensive) coarse grind. I spose other makes would be the same? jack
