Farberware FCP280, Percolator

by Viva

I use a Farberware 280, 120V AC, 1000W, 60 hz, coffee maker. It is a percolator. I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond several years ago, and it still runs like new.

I bought it because I wanted to replace the older drip coffee machine, which was always so messy and splattered coffee everywhere. It was also hard to clean.

This Farberware model is much nicer, very sturdy and reliable, never drips, and works very fast. It is almost nine inches tall, metal, with a tough black handle and a black base where you plug it into a wall outlet.

You can just put in, for example, four cups of water, then measure about four scoops of coffee into the holder that goes over the top after you put the rod in, then put a little lid over that and the main lid on top of that. Plug it in and let it work for a few minutes.

I have never had a problem with this model and would recommend it for all who are tired of drippy, messy coffee makers.

The only slight drawback I can find is that it makes a hissing and popping series of sounds when it is percolating, which you can hear all over the house.

If you do not know what the sound is, it can sound very strange and a bit scary. However, this is a small price to pay for the great coffee you will get to have when it is done running.
