Farberware Classic Electric 2-4 Cup Perc
I bought my Farberware Classic 2-4 Cup Percolator about two years ago at the Farberware outlet store in Calhoun, GA. Its the perfect size for a light coffee drinker and would work well in a mobile home I believe. I paid $40 but I have seen them cheaper at other places since then so be sure to look around before you decide to buy your own.
The Farberware Percolator is made with a sturdy stainless steel body and a very tough plastic base. I've had no problems at all with it so far. It makes consistently good coffee reliably so I've been very satisfied with it up to now. However, I have heard from others that the electrical adapter that comes with this unit will eventually stop working given time and use.
The perc is easy to clean with regular soap and water, although the base is not submersible in water so it can't be put in the dishwasher so keep that in mind.
One thing I hear people complain about often with percolators is that they get grains in their coffee. All you have to do to prevent that is wet the stainless steel basket before adding the coffee grains. This perc is no different. Simply wet the basket and you'll have great coffee every single time.
As I mentioned earlier, I haven't had any problems up to this point with the percolator but I have dealt with Farberware customer service in the past with other products and they are usually quite friendly and helpful (if you can get them on the phone). I know they shut down several of their outlets around the country so a lot of the time you will have to contact them through their support number instead of just walking into the store and getting an exchange or refund on a defective product.
All in all I would say I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to others, especially if they live alone or are light coffee drinkers. I would buy another one if this one ever breaks down on me.
