Coffee, more than any other beverage, is something that can be used in almost any place and at any time. It goes with any meal. It goes as a break beverage. It’s not out of place on a date. It, quite literally could be the perfect beverage for any occasion.

But when it comes to espresso, there are a LOT of things that need to be considered. Espresso machines can cost upwards of one thousand dollars or more.

So you just don’t run to Wal-mart and pick one up on a whim. You need to do some research on them before laying down your hard earned bucks on something that might be all wrong for you.

Some of the things to consider when buying an espresso machine are as follows.

You absolutely need to get a good grinder. You can have the best machine in the world and if your grinder is not up to par, your espresso will only be, at best, mediocre.

A good espresso machine, unlike things like microwaves, is something that should be considered on par with your home theatre system. An item that will give you many hours of joy, so choose it wisely.

Research, research and then research some more. This is not a small investment that will be used only when company is over. You are going to use it yourself, so make sure you narrow down the field and then get specific reviews.

Espresso machines also come in semi automatic and fully automatic models as well as fully manuals, which are called levers, and this is something that needs to be thought out.

Your personal life style will ultimately make that determination. But you have options that need to be considered.

Just like buying the car or the stereo. There are accessories that you will want to consider. I mean a basic car will get you from point A to point B just fine. But the ACCESSORY of the radio, or the GPS will make that journey much easier and enjoyable.

A stereo system with no CD or DVD player will still give you music through the radio. But what happens if you don’t want to listen to the disc jockey? Maybe the news is depressing. Well with a CD you can play music YOU want to hear.

It is pretty much the same with an espresso machine. Sure, you can make an espresso with no accessories added.

But how much more enjoyable will it be if you have the right tamper? Or do you just want the cheap plastic one that comes in the box?

Or maybe the espresso cups that show off YOUR personality. You might also want a nice knock box or a really cool steaming pitcher. There are quite a few styles and they all have plus and minus points.
