Emeril's Jazzed Up Decaf

I have a Keurig coffee brewer, which is the brewer that produces one cup of coffee at a time, and I love love love the Emeril’s Jazzed Up Decaf; for when you don’t need any more caffeine for the day. The Keurig K-cup version is the only way I have been able to find this coffee dispensed, I wish I knew where you could buy it by the bag.

I happen to be on a caffeine restriction, and I have to say, I have been disappointed by every decaf coffee I have ever tried, except for this one. And believe me, I have tried a lot of decafs. The unbrewed coffee has the most robust, chocolaty, rich aroma that I have ever experienced in a decaf. It brews up dark and rich looking, and very full-bodied. If you add cream, it blends out to a beautiful café au lait. From the first sip, I was hooked on this brand of delicious coffee.

I bought mine from Amazon, but you can find it elsewhere. I was definitely taking a chance buying two boxes of this coffee from Amazon when it was featured during a sale. Oh. My.Gosh, I’ve never been so glad I tried anything in my life. The Emeril’s Jazzed Up Decaf tastes like real coffee, not like usual watery, wimpy, unsatisfying decafs. If you weren’t told, you would never know it was decaf.

I got two packages from Amazon for less than $25 shipped, and if you drink Keurig coffee, you know that it’s somewhat more expensive than regular brewed coffee, because you have to pay for the K-cup, which is actually a terrific invention when you break them open. They are a plastic cup with a tiny miniature coffee filter inside, which lends itself to the function of the Keurig, which is a pressurized water system. The best coffee ever.

one of the best decafs

Emerilís Jazzed Up Decaf is a coffee that I've been enjoying in the morning before work. I actually received a one pound bag of this as a gift from a fellow coffee lover back in August and avoided drinking it until recently. That being said, I know that the coffee Iím now drinking is probably not as fresh as it could have been and therefore am giving it a little more leeway when it comes to flavor. I am not a decaf drinker, usually, but my friend heard me complaining about my caffeine habit one day and recommended this coffee as one of the best decafs that she had tried.

One pro to this coffee is that it is heavy on flavor. I dislike cheap coffee because it tends to have an overly monotonous taste, but this brew is far from cheap and far from monotonous. It has notes of sweetness and roasted flavors, even when brewed and served black, which is my preferred serving style! Another pro to this coffee is that the beans grind easily. They do very well in my small home grinder, which I consistently use in the mornings. I prefer a very fine grind for my drip coffee maker and this bean can handle that.

The one pro that I do have for this coffee is the bag that it comes in. Many bags these days can be resealed, but this one could not. For the price, which is also a con of mine, I would think they could upgrade the packaging a bit!
