Diedrich Coffee Morning Edition Blend
The coffee I usually start my morning with is Diedrich Morning Edition Blend. I've never been one to really enjoy super dark roasts, but this blend is perfect for me. It's a full roast blend, and yet it retains is characteristics even when brewed quite strong; this is especially useful since Iím a total caffeine fiend. Rich, nutty and with a slight butter note, Morning Edition is great black, but my absolute favorite way to drink it is with a little bit of milk, alongside some non-dairy creamer. This is just enough to bring out the nutty character I love about it.
This is marketed as a workhorse type of coffee blend, one made mostly to get people through the day; keeping this in mind, itís even more impressive as a coffee. Priced for mass consumption yet good enough to feel like a premium coffee-house blend, it's really something I look forward to in the morning. Even the aroma gives off the essence of a high-quality Arabica cup, and it's enough to whet the drinker's appetite like none other.
While it lacks some of the smoothness of the really expensive stuff you'd get at a nicer coffee shop, I think that's a small price to pay for the convenience of brewing your own cup, just the way you like it. Couple that with superior re-heatability, and you've got a go-anywhere coffee blend that can truly last you the whole day, should you be so inclined. I'd recommend it to anyone whoís looking for a surprisingly flavorful, rich coffee for not-that-much dough.
