Cuisinart DCC 450 BK Coffee Maker

I have a four-cup coffee-maker made by Cuisinart (model number BCC 450 BK). I like it just as much as I like butter on my toast. The maker is an absolute necessity. I travel with it.

I make sure it comes with me any where I will wake in the morning. Without the maker, I have no coffee. The best part about the maker is its automatic timer shut-off function. It turns itself off!

Prior to owning this machine, my husband and I would worry about whether we had turned off the appliances especially the coffee-maker which could burn and cause a fire! Now, the machine turns itself off which is the most important function (other than making coffee) The one down side is that the carafe does not seem to pour very well. There are always drips on the counter top when we pour from it.

However, it is very convenient to be able to take a cup wherever it is in the brewing cycle (you do not have to wait until the whole 4 cups are brewed to serve yourself). But just remember that those earlier cups are much more potent. Moreover, there is a downside to the fact that the 4 cups are really small.

To rate this model I would give it a 3 because the self turn-off is really a great function (1 being the worst and 5 being the best)! I have owned only a few types of coffee machines and this one has lasted me at least 3 years!

We do like it a lot for our small family. If you think you are forgetful and might leave your machine on, this one is for you. But if you want lots of coffee, you might want to think about a bigger model. Happy coffee brewing!
