We all know how much we coffee drinkers look forward to that first cup of coffee in the morning. We want it quick and we want it hot. According to recent reviews, the BTX Home Brewer does just that. With a brewing time of 2.5 to 3 minutes, this coffee maker seems to be one of the fastest on the market to give you that first cup you anticipate every morning. It is said to also keep your coffee hot for hours in the stainless steel carafe, so your fourth cup of coffee should be just as hot as your first. Most consumers seem to agree that it’s fast, stays hot longer than with other brewers they have used, and it makes a great tasting cup of coffee. Another well liked advantage is the double pot feature. While it brews your first pot of coffee, it keeps water hot for the next pot you brew. Unfortunately, like with everything else, there seems to be some flaws. There were some complaints of the carafe leaking when pouring water into the coffee maker and when pouring coffee into their cups. It is suggested that you wash the spout and seal thoroughly with dawn dishwashing liquid and that is suppose to help eliminate the leakage problem. There also seemed to be a problem with grounds overflowing in the filters. It is recommended that you use Bunn filters, as other brands tend to be too short to hold the coffee grounds. Even though many consumers claim their coffee stays hot for hours, others have stated that it does not. They claim after a short period of time, they have to reheat their drinks. They have also stated the coffee tastes weaker than normal, but if they add more coffee to the filter they suffer the affects of overflow. Another problem seems to be the fact that the coffee maker starts pouring out coffee as soon as you shut the lid, some consumers find this annoying and said they would rather have a button to begin the brewing process. Apparently, the lid on the carafe is a little difficult to use, considering the fact it stays closed at all times. There seems to be a special technique to using the carafe and it is advised so that you read your instruction manual before attempting to start your coffee maker. The biggest problem with the BTX Home Brewer seems to lie with the carafe. All products on the market have their good points and their bad, but for the most part, many consumers feel that this coffee maker does brew excellent tasting coffee, and even though it’s a bit pricey, they feel it is worth the extra money.
