Briel Lido Espresso Machine

I have had this Briel espresso maker for about 2 months now and I have very mixed feelings about it. I usually go to a coffee shop for all of my coffee and espresso but now I don't go as much as I used to. I have saved a lot of money making it at home. Plus its very convenient to have a nice espresso when ever you would like. I must admit its not exactly the best tasting espresso there ever was, but its gets the job done and i can get my caffine fix.
Actually the espresso tastes really bad to me and I have had better tasting from other home espresso makers. Its not very expensive, I think mine was around $120-130 so I recommend it to someone who is having money troubles or would rather spend their money elsewhere. I purchased mine on Amazon so I don't know the actual price. It makes one cup at at time and it doesn't come out as hot as I would like it. It basically all black so it will probably match your kitchen.
This espresso maker is definitely good for a beginner. Makes good crema though. The steam isn't hot enough and the shots of espresso don't have a good enough consistency. Don't give this machine as a gift, it will probably not be appreciated from an espresso drinker with a preferance for good tasting espresso.
Also I didn't love how short the steam wand was. That wand is ineffective for brewing proper espresso. So overall i'd give it a 5 out of 10 stars. Its cheap, it heats up quickly and yes it makes espresso. But the espresso is poor quality, and doesn't get hot enough..So you choose. I'm keeping mine until it breaks or something, then I will get something more expensive. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
