Black & Decker ODC425 Spacemaker Series

First 2 were great and then they came out with this gem.

Metal carafe that "rotted" on the inside within months (wrote B&D: no reply). Eliminated the 2-hour warmer. Has a digital display that is not back-lit (hello? it's under the counter; how are you supposed to see it?).

It's always a good idea to have a product that succeeds and they replace it with an absolute piece of garbage!

I need the under counter and unfortunately this is the only one I can find. I need a new coffee maker now!

Don't buy this item!!

I have so many good B&D items, but this is far from good.

It is a beautiful looking piece of junk. It floods my counter at least 2or 3 times a week no matter how well I clean the filter cup.

B and D need to sort there act out

This is insane. It truly is a spacemaker as I cannot have anything on the space BELOW, BESIDE OR AROUND the coffee maker.
Over 5 months ago there was a commitment from Black & Decker to provide me with replacement parts. Instead I am told a saga that they are not available yet. If they cannot provide me with a brand new machine with the 2 replacement parts, the actual replacement parts or the name of the consumer advocate that they can be reported to. This is unacceptable and disgusting that I have had to use this machine for this many months and daily scrub down my kitchen from the coffee disaster that ensues. I cannot trust the program as my kitchen, walls & floor get flooded. I cannot trust the on switch as I have to stand there and babysit my coffee machine from the ensuing flood. This is unacceptable of a corporation the size of Black & Decker to provide this kind of consumer service. I have been a dedicated consumer to your corporation for over 25 years but this coffee maker is pushing me to the brink.

Is it that us little consumers are not important enough? Do the Black & Decker employees use one of these defective machines in their kitchens?

Tired of scrubbing, mopping, cursing along with not being able to use my already minimal counter space!!!

I believe I am owed a timeframe or compensation for this unbelievable delay in satisfaction.

I guess I could go buy a cheapy product for less than $20. that takes up a corner of my counter but instead I hold out hope of someday getting satisfaction and still get to deal with this MESS and now the frustration of the "we truly care about you but....." from B&D's consumer department.

Thanks for mentioning that there is a recall. Since I had gotten in touch with B&D and received no reply I did not know this. The pot was thrown in the garbage months ago. Oh well, C'est la vie.

Lesson learned.
