Aerobie 80R08 AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker

The Aerobie Aeropress is a fantastic coffee maker with a truly unique design. It can make both regular style coffee and espresso style coffee, but it is probably best thought of as an espresso maker. The Aerobie Aeropress is completely hand operated and simple to use. The device quite cleverly simulates the air pressure brewing of an espresso machine and the pressing motion of a French press. The Aerobie AeroPress is simple to use and requires only a small learning curve. I found that I could get quite efficient at using it after only a few tries. By varying the type of beans used, the time I allowed to brew, and the amount of beans used I found I could vary the resulting cup quite nicely.

The Aerobie AeroPress compares quite favorably to espresso machines that cost hundreds of dollars, and it beats a regular drip brew in terms of flavor and quality any day of the week. Some of the positives of it are its ease of use and the simple cleanup process. Just pop the used grind out, and rinse the device off. One downside is that it is difficult to make large amounts of coffee using the AeroPress. It really works best when making a single cup, or possibly a double serving. I have found that it makes great coffee for flavored drinks as well, but in general I use it for espresso or with hot water for a more American tasting cup. Another drawback is that the coffee is not really able to be kept warm while in the device. You really need to brew it as you need it.

- easy to use
- simple cleanup process
- makes great coffee for flavored drinks

- difficult to make large amounts of coffee
- not able to keep the coffee warm
